the following are the measures

• initially reduce the use of water to help in storing of wate
• try to plan rain water harvesting by citizen  of that town
• proper pipelines should be installed
• regular check of pipelines to see no leakage as tonns of water can be wasted because of it
• appealing the govt. regarding the shortage of water
