- Bengal Gazette - J.A Hickey - 1780 - An English weekly newspaper, it was published in the Kolkata. India’s first newspaper, it was banned by East India Company after two years of its publication.
- Kesari, Maratha - Bal Gangadhar Tilak - 1881 - Kesari was the Marathi newspaper used as spoke pieces in the Indian National Freedom movement. Still run by Kesari Maratha Trust and Tilak’s descendents. Maratha was an english newspaper published from Kesari Wada, Narayan Peth, Pune.
- Hitavada - Gopal Krishna Gokhale - 1911 - Founded by Gokhale in Nagpur, later taken over by Prohit and company. Largest selling newspaper of central India.
- Voice of India - Dadabhai Naoroji - 1883 - It was published in Bombay originally but later assimilated into Indian Spectator, another daily English newspaper. It created awareness about the drain of wealth by Britishers during colonial rule in India.
- Amrita Bazar Patrika - Sisir Kumar Ghosh and Motilal Ghosh - 1868 - It is not only the oldest newspaper in Bangladesh but also among the oldest ones in south Asia. Originally a Bengali newspaper, eventually evolved into an English dialect newspaper.
- Bande Mataram - Aurobindo Ghosh - 1905 - Weekly English newspaper.
- Statesman - Robert Knight - 1875 - Daily English newspaper published simultaneously in Kolkata, Siliguri, Bhubaneswar, and New Delhi.
