Answer:

Solutions in which solvent is present is gaseous state are called Gasesous solution. Gaseous solutions can be divided into following three types on the basis of phases of solute and solvent.

Gas – Gas Solution

Liquid – Gas Solution

Solid – Gas Solution

Here will read about gas-solid solutions

Gas-solid solutions

Solutions having solvent in solid-state and solute in gaseous state are called gas-solid solutions.

Examples

Hydrogen gas on platinum.

Hydrogen is a gas at STP and platinum is solid. Hence, Hydrogen gas adsorbed on the surface of platinum is an example of gas in solid solution.

Solid carbon dioxide in fire extinguisher

A carbon dioxide fire extinguisher has been filled with gaseous carbon dioxide but inside the canister the higher pressure causes this to turn into solid carbon dioxide which later is released as a white powder when putting out a fire.
