The main function of the heart is to circulate blood throughout the body. It is a chambered organ which is capable to separating oxygenated and deoxygenated blood into different chambers in order to bring "used" blood from the body and send it to lungs to be oxygenated. It then pumps that oxygen rich blood throughout the body. This is the function of the heart. It is a muscular organ controlled by electrical impulse whose only real job is to pump blood.
