• 1) Two wooden sticks (5 mm diameter).

2) Two copper wires (5 mm diameter).

3) Battery

4) Bulb

• Procedure :

- At first connect one end of the two wooden sticks with the two terminals of the bulb and another two ends with the two terminals of the battery.

- Then connect one end of the two copper wires with the two terminals of the bulb and another two ends with the two terminals of the battery.

• Observation :

- The bulb was glowing when the copper wires are used.

- The bulb was not glowing when the wooden sticks are used.

• Conclusion :

The electric resistance depends upon the nature of the material because the resistivity of the wood is greater than the copper.
