Get a battery, a VOM, a resistor, and some hook up wire. Set up a series circuit with the VOM as ammeter to measure the current

To verify the Ohm's Law, materials required are:

  • A resistor of about 5 Ω
  • an ammeter ( 0 - 3 A)
  • a voltmeter (0 - 10 V)
  • four dry cells of 1.5 V each with a cell holder
  • a plug key
  • connecting wires
  • a piece of sand paper.

"Ohm's law states that the voltage across a conductor is directly proportional to the current flowing through it, provided all physical conditions and temperatures remain constant."

Formula derived for Ohm's law is V = IR where,

  • V is voltage
  • I is current
  • R is Resistor
