The first thought that would come up to our mind when we would think about the various means of living in any hilly area, might refer to Todas, Irulars or Kurummbars.

Actually life in hilly areas, is extremely tough as compared to that of ordinary plain regions, whatever be the form.

It has a completely different topography from that of plains.

However while some people have to live there by virtue of their life, some have to live there by virtue of their profession. It is a certain land form that stands above a normal land or terrain.

There are certain hilly programmes that have developed recently to support these sections of people, and these areas. The houses are wooden in structure and people live under extreme cold conditions.
