• Solid-state:- Examples of elements in the solid-state are Carbon, Aluminium, Copper etc. Molecules in solids can't move, therefore they can only vibrate around their mean location.
• Liquid state:- Examples of elements in the liquid state are Mercury, Bromine etc. Liquid molecules are not as tightly packed as solid molecules, they can take the shape of the vessel in which they are put.
• Gaseous state:- Examples of elements in the gaseous state are Oxygen, Argon, Neon etc. Gases don't have any shape or volume since their molecules are so far apart.
