Here are some of the situations in which no work is done on a body even though a force act on it:-

NOTE:-
If the displacement is perpendicular to the direction of force or if it is zero then work done is equal to zero.

#1.. When we push a wall, We apply force but still there is no work done because there is no displacement of point of application.

#2.. When 2 people is pushing a wooden block with same force but in opposite direction.

#3.. Work done by the sun on earth is zero since centripetal force is perpendicular to the motion of the earth.

#4.. A coolie carries a bag on his head the force acting is mg which is downward and the coolie moves in straight line the angle would be 90° and thus work done by the coolie on the bag is zero.
