Alauddin Khilji was born in 1250 AD in Birbhum district, Bengal. His real name was Juna Muhammad Khilji and the son of Shihabuddin Masud. His father’s brother Jalaluddin Finz Khilji was the first sultan of Khilji dynasty. In his childhood days not interested in education but learned Martial arts and war techniques. So that he grew up to become a powerful and excellent warrior.

Khilji killed his uncle Jalaluddin Firuz Khilji, the first ruler of Khilji dynasty and became the second ruler of Khilji dynasty. He was a powerful monarch and started invading states and territories to increase his empire over the Indian subcontinent. He became the first Muslim ruler to successfully defeated and conquered Southern parts of India. In every war in South India, he successfully succeeded defeating the rulers. Especially the generals Malik Kafur and Khubrav Khan supported him to overthrown the rulers. He also got bad fame by loot the states and ordered the overthrown kings for payment of annual taxes. Most of his life spent engaging in defending the Delhi Sultanate from the continuous Mongol invasions. He also looted the Koh-i-noor Diamond which is one of the largest known diamond in human history.

Battles in his Life:

His life in the palaces started in 1290 AD, at first and appointed as Amir-i-Tuzuk in the palace of Sultan. Later in 1291 AD, he made as the Governor of Kara and suppressed many revolts. In 1296 AD Alauddin Kilji killed Jalaluddin and captured the throne and became a new sultan to Delhi. Then he had faced many difficulties from the rebels within his kingdom. He suppressed all the revolts and became a powerful sultan in Indian history.

During 1296 – 1308 AD, he defeated Mongols under different leaders at the battles of Jalandhar, Kilim Amroha and Ravi. Later he brought stability to the administration.

In 1298 AD he captured 30,000 Mongols who settled around Delhi and killed them in a single day. After this brutal action, he made their children and women as slaves and treated them cruelly. In 1301 AD he defeated the Rajputs and killed Rana Hamir Dev, a descendant of Prithviraj Chauhan.

Kakatiyas and Alauddin Khilji Death:

In 1303 AD he attacked Warangal but defeated by the army of Kakatiya army. Again he sent his troops under Lieutenant Malik Kafur, in a fierce battle he captured Warangal fort and looted all the treasure. The Koh-i-noor, one of the largest known diamonds in the world also looted by Malik Kafur.

Ala-ud-din khilji blinded the two sons of his lieutenant Malik Naib Kafur. In January 1316 AD, Alauddin Khilji trying to make the third son of Kafur blind, Kafur eventually killed Sultan Alauddin Khilji.
