'Naive friend', a translation of the story  'Nadan dost' written by  Munshi Premchand, describes the story of two children Keshav and his sister Shyama.

In this story, the two children discovered bird's eggs on the cornice of their house.

Thinking that the eggs are unsafe, they did three things to protect them.

1. Shyama brought some pieces of cloth from her old frock.  Keshav folded it several times in the form of a rug and placed it over the straw, and gently put the egg on it.

2. They brought the old newspaper basket and arranged it against the branch to protect the egg from the sun.

3. They also kept a handful of rice, which Shyama took from the kitchen without being noticed by her mother, and a bowl of water for them.
