The colours  obtained when white light splits into 7 different colours  due to dispersion through prism [  increasing order of deviation]:
-->Red
-->Orange
-->Yellow
-->Green
-->Blue
-->Indigo
--->Violet
The seven different colours can be recombined  in the following way to give white light :
1.A triangular prism is placed  on its base and another similar prism is placed along its side in inverted position on its vertex. so that the refracting surface is in the opposite direction.
When a beam of white light is allowed to fall on the first prism then  a ordinary white light is obtained on the screen placed behind the second prism
The first prism splits the white light into 7 colours and second prism recombines into white light.
