● Conditions required for firm & smooth deposition by electroplating -

1. Small current is passed for longer time.

2. Proper choice of electrode and electrolyte

e.g. For copper-plating, copper sulphate soln is used as electrolyte.

3. Surface to be plated must be cleaned (polishing) before electroplating.
