- If the proportion of fine particles are relatively higher then it is called as clayey soil.
- It mostly consists of clay particles, the sand particles being for less in proportion.
- This type of soil is very sticky and so tilling is difficult.

- Loamy soil is best suited for plants to grow.
- Crops like wheat, barley, mustard, pulses, cotton, fruits and vegetables grow in this type of soil.
