• Iron is the fourth most common element and the second most common metal in the earth's crust.

• By mass it is the most common element on the earth, forming much of the earth’s outer and inner core.

• Element Steel contains over 95 % Fe.

• Elemental iron occurs in meteoroids and other low-oxygen environments and is reactive to oxygen and water.

• The different types of iron are magnetite, massive hematite, limonite, and siderite.
• They differ from each other as hematite and magnetite have rich iron ore contents of nearly 70% iron or more than that.
• On the other hand, siderite and limonite have less iron ore content which is 40% or to less than 60%.
