Most of the time,people pray for rain but but when it rains,it can sometimes come with negative results and this has effects on the people and also their environment.lets take for instance in Kenya right now,flood water is washing away everything that stands on the way.This is the trick,we have been waiting for rain for all that time but when it comes,it destroys everything.bellow is a list of what diverse weather conditions specifically for rain can cause:
1.taking the obvious one,death occurs in many forms as our animals die due to drowning and humans die too.According to experts,people who die in floods are 150 per a year in U.S.A .Although we don't have floods every time of the year,when they occur,they touch lives negatively.
2.In the field of agriculture,great losses are incurred since when rain falls in excess,it results to the plants roots rotting and at long last,the plant falls and is washed away by the water..Other than that,we have endangered species of plants that are near to extinction.They need care and in most of the times,they are usually weak.That means that our children and even ourselves will never see the plants.
3.Road accidents-According to research,most of the road accidents occur during bad weather and specifically during the rainy seasons.Most drives don't take chance to change their driving habits during different weather patterns and that is why a high percentage of road accidents occur during this time and not even when it is icy or snowing.
4.Soil erosion-This when rain drops loosen the top soil and when the soil can no longer absorb water it is carried away in rivers and if the soil had chemicals in it,they are carried into the river and this reduces the quality of drinking water.Other than that,soil carried in rivers may clog and reduce the ability of water to flow easily and this may force the river to break its banks and this has negative effects on the people living in the areas near the river.The soil carried by the water may also end up forming layers on walk ways and paved surfaces.
5.Flood waters may also have undetectable effects on wildlife like when it rains,butterflies reduce their rate of production of reproduction since their habitats are destroyed by the flood water and also the mating grounds may be washed away since in most cases, butterflies mate hanging on tree branches.From this,we can see that if butterflies don't increase,the animals that rely on them for food will also die of hunger.This causes a gap in the food chain.Lets take for example birds that feed on the butterflies,they will end up perishing.
6. In business studies,I learnt that when the weather is hot, the demand for warm cloths goes down and when the weather is cold the demand for warm cloths goes up.This implies either directly or indirectly here.When the weather is not promising,many sporting activities will be postponed for another,eg golfing....
