The factors on which the amount of heat produced depends on the below:
- Electric current,
- Resistance to heating element and
- Time period to utilise the energy.
- The material, length and thickness determines the heat production amount.
- This effect is applied on lightening appliances like filament lamps, fluorescent lamps, electric cookers, electric heaters, irons, kettles.
- Higher the resistance more the heat is produced, long the duration larger the heat is produced, more the current the heat produced is higher.
- It forms the Joule’s equation of electrical heating.
