Correct Question :-

List the factors on which resistance of a conductor depends on.

\bf\:AnSwEr:-

The electrical resistance of a conductor depends on the following factors :-

Length of the conductor :- The resistance of a conductor directly proportional to it's length.

  • when the length of a wire is doubled ,it's resistance also get doubled.

  • When the length of wire is halved then it's resistance also gets halved.

Area of Cross section of conductor:- The resistance of conductor is inversely proportional to it's area of cross section.

  • when the area of cross section of wire is doubled , it's resistance gets halved.

  • when the area of cross section of wire is halved then it's resistance will get doubled.

Nature of material of conductor :- The electrical resistance of a conductor depends on the nature of material of which it is made.

Temperature of the conductor :- The resistance of all pure metals increases on raising the temperature and decreasing on lowering the temperature.

  • The resistance of alloys like manganin, constantan and nichrome is almost unaffected by temperature.
