- The states in India were ruled by king's rule.
- The first and the foremost reason is that there is no unity among the Indian rulers.
- Second is that they had political issues in and around the national hence this paved way for the British to take the rule over India.
- The setup of the East India Company led to the transfer of powers to the English people.
- The doctrine of lapse is also the reason because if a king didn't take heir, he should hand over the territory to the British.
- The subsidiary alliance, If not met with the needs, the Indians should give the territory as the allies.
