1)Railways cant scale undulating plains and terrains as laying the tracks of the railways in these regions are difficult.
2)It can be efficient in transporting goods and people over longer distance but when coming to short distances it is very difficult and costly.
3)it cant act as a feeder or connection between any modes of transport.like roadways provide a connection between airways and railways and waterways but railways cant do it.
