The functions performed by reticular connective tissue are as follows :-

1. It helps in forming the stroma or the delicate supportive framework of organs.

2. It binds smooth muscle tissue cells.

3. It removes worn out cells in the spleen and also microbes in the lymph nodes.

4. It lines the medullary cavity.

5. The endosteum is composed with reticular connective tissue.

6. It almost resembles loose Areolar connective tissue.
