Granulocytes include the following types of cells included in WBCs:

a) Neutrophil : involved in vascular defence and protection of tissues

b) Eosinophil : involved in inflammatory processes, responsible for secretion of cytokines.

c) Basophils : also involved in inflammatory responses, responsible for secretion of histamine, serotonin, etc.

Agranulocytes include the following cells:

a) Lymphocytes: they are of many types and responsible for extracellular defence. They produce antibodies.
