The main provision of the act:
The Government fixes the minimum wage rates payable to the workers, working in a factory. The Government reviews and revises the wages rate annually. The term 'Minimum wages' seems small but it covers the whole of India. Every state has to follow the rules set by the Act, 1948.minimum wage rates on a per day basis, and extends to the entire country and is revised within a period of not less than five years, however there is a provision to increase dearness allowance every two years
