List the material which have electrical properties at low temperature?
Answers
Answer:
Diamond and sapphire both have high thermal conductivity and are electrical insulators. Diamond is the best known thermal conductor at room temperature (5 times better than metals such as copper), with isotopically pure diamond having 50% better thermal conductivity than normal diamond. At cryogenic temperatures (below 100K) sapphire is often used as an excellent thermal conductor, better than pure copper.
For a time I worked on high power AlGaAs diode lasers, which are roughly the size of a grain of salt. The output wavelength of these lasers depends on their temperature, and since they are so small inadequate cooling can quickly cause damage. We sometimes mounted the diode lasers on very small diamonds because of the excellent thermal conductivity.
