drawbacks of Mendeleev's periodic table?

Isotopes are those with same atomic no: and different mass no:s. Mendeleev's periodic table was based on arranging elements in increasing order of atomic masses. But isotopes were not included in his periodic table. Cobalt being more heavier than Nickel ,was placed before Nickel , in the Mendeleev's periodic table.

Properties

Mendeleev realized that the physical and chemical properties of elements were related to their atomic mass in a 'periodic' way, and arranged them so that groups of elements with similar properties fell into vertical columns in his table.

\huge\it\red{Drawbacks\;of\;mendeleev\;periodic\;table}

  • As per mandeleev law the isotopes should posses a different portion in periodic table but it is not sure.

  • Mendeleev placed dissimilar elements together while similar elements apart in his periodic table.

\huge\it\blue{properties}

  • In medeleev table their are twelve horizontal rows known as series and nine verticle column known as groups.

  • in mendeleev table noble gas are present in zeroth column because their valency is zero.

  • mendeleev also leave the gap in his table for the elements to be discover.like he place a gap under aluminium and silicon and name as eka aluminium (galilium) eka silicon as (germanium) which are known as galium and germanium now a days.
