1. They emerge from the north pole and merge at south pole.

*Magnetic field line are always closed, continuous curves.

*They move from the North Pole to the South Pole outside the magnet.

*They seek the path of least resistance between opposite magnetic poles. ...

*They never cross one another. If they did then at that particular point of intersection, the compass needle would point at two directions which is not possible.

*They all have the same strength.

*Their density decreases (they spread out) when they move from an area of higher permeability to an area of lower permeability.
