• The forests are cut to obtain materials like wood for making paper, doors etc.

• They are also cut to get the land to construct buildings, roads etc.

• Since population is increasing day by day, they are also cut to obtain land for cultivation to feed the growing population.

• They are also cut down to obtain fuel as wood also acts as fuel.
