1. There was no unity among the Princes which led to frequent wars among them.the British took the advantage of this.

2. Policies introduced by the British in india such as Doctrine of Lapse, subsidiary alliance which made them capture the indian states

3. Superiority amongst all the colonial powers, capturing the trade route , having power over all the companies trading in india such as Dutch East India company , Portuguese and French East India Company
