Photosynthesis
Following are the events that take place during the process of Photosynthesis -
- Absorption of light energy by chlorophyll
- Conversion of light energy to chemical energy and splitting of water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen.
- Reduction of carbon dioxide to carbohydrates.
Role of Stomata in this Process -
- Stomata are the tiny pores present on the surface of leaves.
- Massive amount of gas change takes place in leaves through these pores for photosynthesis process.
- Stomata helps plants in getting the carbon dioxide through the pores.
Also, it closes the pores when it doesn't need Carbon dioxide for photosynthesis.
