List the two ambitions and unique schemes of Muhammad bin Tughlaq.Suggest measures which you would have taken as a ruler to ensure that the above schemes were successful.

Answer - The two ambitious and unique schemes of Muhammad Bin Tughlaq are as follows -:

1. Introduction of a token currency - In 1329, there was a shortage of silver during this period. So, the Sultanat decided to mint coins of brass and copper for day to day use. But after sometime the treasury does became empty. The experiment was soon withdrawn.

2. Transfer of capital - In 1327, Muhammad Bin Tughlaq decided to transfer his capital from Delhi to Devagiri which was rechristened Daultabad - the house of prosperity.

For Suggestions,

As a ruler to ensure the schemes that they are good for people or not we have to do some following ways -:

1. For token currency introduction, as a ruler Jauna Khan (Mohammed Bin Tughlaq). They have a strict check to ensure that the people did not make their own coins which we call ‘jali’ or fake.

2. For Transfer of capital, Transfer of the sultanate’s capital from Delhi to Daultabad was a huge mistake as it led to an erstwhile powerful city (Delhi) falling in neglect. There was discontent brewing among his citizens who had shifted from Delhi to Daulatabad, and on top of that it was not easy to control the North from Daulatabad, and he hadn’t been able to secure the South completely, using Daulatabad as his base.

Hope it is helpful.
