Anikesh..the two main features of permanent settlement were:
1) The land ownership was transferred to Zamindars who were earlier only intermediaries in land revenue collection in the regimes of previous rulers, and peasants turned into mere tenants.
2) As per the settlement, Zamindars have to collect the tax revenue on agriculture, and have to give 10/11 of revenue so collected to Britishers as Tax keeping test of the 1/11 with themselves. Moreover they have to deposit it at a predetermined date (in evening), failing which the land could be seized and transferred to other Zamindar, Henze often called 'Sunset Clause'.

Fact check: Permanent Settlement was introduced by Cornwallis,Governor General Of Bengal , though there were earlier informal tax collection procedures introduced by Warren Hastings, previous Governor General.

Hope it helps buddy.
