The banking commission 1972 grouped  indigenous bankers into four  different class .

  • Gujrati Shroffs
  • Shikarpuri
  • Chettiars of South
  • Marwari kayas of Assam.

The metropolitan areas of Bombay and  Calcutta is basically controlled by the gujrati shroffs.

And In the southern part of India it is mostly seen that the Chettiars look over the system.
