Burial or funeral is the ceremonial action of putting a dead person or animal,  into the ground. This is achieved by digging a pit or trench, putting the dead and covering it with soil.

Burial is usually seen as symbolizing honor for the dead. It has been used to stop the odor of decomposition, to give family members cessation and check them from observing the disintegration of their loved ones, and in various cultures, it has been recognized as a significant step for the dead because it been perceived that after burying them they can enter the immortality or return back to the cycle of life.
