• Pro-Jallikattu protests- a protest against the ruling of the Supreme Court of India for banning Jallikattu (a traditional Bull taming game). This protest was an example of Non-violent protest.
• Sterlite protest was an event that occurred on 22nd and 23rd May 2018 in Thoothukudi, Tamilnadu. In this event, with the open fire from the side of police, a total of 13 people were killed and 102 got injured. As a result, the protesters also hit back the policemen. This protest is an example of a Violent protest.
• Tamil Nadu protests for Kaveri water sharing was another example of a violent protest.
