List three harmful effects of microorganism

Microorganisms :

Micro organisms are organisms that can only be seen under a microscope and never with the naked eye .

They are classified on their type into to 4 types :

1. Bacteria
2. Algae
3. Fungi
4. Protozoa

Even though microorganisms have a lot of importance in ecosystem , cleaning the environment , production of food , medicines and in other forms like helping in digestion or nitrogen cycle they have harmful effects too . Like :

• They cause diseases

Microoganisms that cause diseases are called as pathogens . They enter our body through air or food or water or used clothes or through direct contact .

• Viruses

Viruses are also the examples of of microorganisms and their cause many diseases like COVID , Anthrax and rabies . They even caused diseases in plants.

• They spoil food

Packaged food has air and moisture in it due to which microorganism start growing. Consumption of such food can harm our body .

After a long time of cooking of food if not consumed or left some where it starts to spoil because of growth of microorganisms .

Harmful effects of microorganisms: Bacteria: Causes various diseases such as typhoid, diarrhea, and cholera. Fungi: Causes a large number of diseases in plants and in animals such as rust diseases in plants, fruit rot in apple, red rot in sugar cane and ring worm disease in human beings.
