First of all, what is Photosynthesis ?

Ans - The process through which autotrophic organisms prepare their food using sunlight and chlorophyll, is termed as Photosynthesis.

The three events that occur during the process of photosynthesis are as follows :-

• Absorption - Light energy of the sun is absorbed by the chlorophyll (green pigment).

• Conversion - The light energy of the sun is then converted into chemical energy and the water (H₂O) molecules absorbed by the roots of the plant, are split into separate Hydrogen (H₂) and Oxygen (O₂) atoms.

• Reduction - Carbon dioxide (CO₂) molecules are reduced into Carbohydrates.
