1.Pitch: It depends on the number of nodes and frequency

2.Amplitude : it is depend upon the energy

3.Frequency: it depends upon wave length

Sound is characterized by:

1. Pitch.

2. Quality.

3. Loudness.

Pitch is the frequency of a sound as heard by the human ear. A high frequency produces a high pitch note and a low frequency produces a low pitch note

The sound of only one frequency is a pure tone like that given by a tuning fork or an electronic signal generator.

The fundamental note has a larger intensity. It has the greatest amplitude and is heard predominantly. The other frequencies like 2fo, 3fo, 4fo, are called overtones or harmonics. They determine the quality of the sound.

Loudness is a physiological sensation. It mainly depends on sound pressure. It also depends on the spectrum of the harmonics and the physical duration.
