Life of farmers and herders have been quite different from hunters and gatherers :
1) Farmers & herders raise domesticated plants or animals whereas Hunters & gatherers collect naturally occurring food off the landscape.
2) Hunter & gatherers are nomafic while the farmers & herders need a permanent structure to take care of their products.
3) Farming societies had a leadership structure while Hunters - gatherers lived in small groups and did not have a definite leadership structure.
