Two disinguish featues of field -

Solenoid - 1. Field strength can be changed by changing the amount of current.

2. Poles can be interchanged by changing the direction of current.

Bar Magnet- 1.Field strength is fixed and cannot be changed. 

2. Poles cannot be interchanged i.e. field direction is fixed.
