•) incorrect atomic mass corrected:- he was able to correct the values of the atomic mass of elements like gold and Platinum by placing these elements strictly on the basis of similarities in their properties

•) gaps for undiscovered elements:- in order to make sure that elements having similar properties fell in the same vertical column or groups , mendeleev left some gap in his periodic table. These gaps were left for subsequent inclusion of elements not known at that time. Mendeleev correctly thought that such element would be discovered later.
