A Magnetic field exists in the region surrounded by a bar magnet and is characterised by strength and direction.
Methods of producing magnetic fields:

1. BY USING permanent magnet we can produce magnetic field and can visualize by spreading iron filings on a white paper keeping magnet beneath the paper.
2. A CURRENT carrying straight conductor can produce magnetic field ---Oersted experiment.
3 We can also use different types of conductors like circular loop , solenoid to see the presence of magnetic field.
