  • catination:it is a property of an atom to form a long chain, ring or branched structure with identical atoms
  • tetra co-valence: carbon has 4 electrons in last shell so it is impossible to get stable by losing or gaining electrons so it forms long compounds by covalent bonds

carbon forms covalent bonds because of tetra co-valence
