Maximum temperature = 5
Minimum temperature = -8
Range = Maximum temperature - Minimum temperature
           = 5-(-8)
           = 5+8
           = 13 .
So,option (b) is correct .

Given:

Temperatures in °C for 10 days.

To Find:

Find the range of the given data ?

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Range is the difference between the higher observation and lower observation.

        Range= higher observation - lower observation.

  • From the given data temperature for ten days are as follows:

         –6, –8, 0, 3, 2, 0, 1, 5, 4, 4

  • Highest temperature from the given data = 5°C

        Lower temperature from the given data = -8°C

  • Finding the range of the data.

        Range= higher observation - lower observation.

        Put values of higher observation and lower observation.

        Range = 5-(-8)

        Range = 5+8\\Range =13

So, Range of the given data is 13.
