Best Answer:  Lizards are reptiles. Reptiles are cold blooded. Cold blooded animals don't maintain their own body temperature. Their body temperature depends on the atmospheric temperature. When it's hot, they have a higher body temperature and when it's cold they have a lower body temperature. This affects their behavior as well. When it's hot, they are active, but they go to sleep at lower temperatures since they become drowzy and are in a low energy state due to lower body temperature. So during winter, lizards are probably asleep somewhere, since their lethargic during this time at that cold temperature. This is why they aren't seen outside during winter.
