ln a class the number of girls is 8 more than boys and the total students are 40. Find the number of girls.​

Let the no. of boys be x ,

and no. of girls be 8 + x

Now,

(8+x) + x = 40

8 + 2x = 40

8+ x = 20

x = 20 - 8 = 12
