Solution:

We have

Number of boys = 24

And,

Number of girls = 20

So,

Total number of books required to distribute,

Find LCM of number of boys and girls,

i.e.

24 =  2 × 2 × 2 × 3

And,

20 = 2 × 2 × 5

So,

Now taking common,

i.e.

LCM (24, 20) = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 5 = 120

Hence, the number of books that can be equally distributed among children boys and girls are 120.
