If the 100-rupee notes are three times more than 500-rupee notes, then the total number of notes is 28

Solution:

100-Rupees notes are three times more than the 500- Rupees notes

So let the number of 500 Rupee notes = m

Then according to given, number of 100 rupee note = 3m

Total amount = 5600

So according to question,

Total amount = 100 rupee notes + 500 rupee notes

5600 = 100 \times 3m + 500 \times m\\\\5600 = 800m\\\\m = 7

"m" represents number of 500 rupee notes. So no. of 500 Rupee notes = 7

And no. of 100 Rupee notes = 3m = 3 × 7 = 21

So total number of notes = 7 + 21 = 28
