LO. There are some candies in a box. Each student gets 6 candies when these
candies are equally distributed among the students of a class. If there were 4
more students in the class, each would get 2 candies less. Find the number of
students in the class.​

let the no of students be x

total no of candies =6x -1

if 4 students are added then the total no of students becomes x+4

each sets 2 candies less hence each gets 6-2=4 candies

total candies now =4(x+4)

=4x+16 -2

from -1 and -2

6x=4x+16

2x=16

x=8

HENCE NO. OF STUDENTS IN CLASS ARE 8
