  • Construct a triangle ODE with OD=√3 units and DE = 2 units

  • ∆ODE is a right angled triangle,by Pythagoras theorem,

OE²=OD²+DE²

=> OE² = (√3)²+2²

=> OE² = 3+4

=> OE² = 7

=> OE = √7

  • Draw an arc from E to intersect on the number line with √7 units .
