First draw a line according to the root given ..example if it's root 8 draw a 8 cm line then extend it to 1 cm more then mark the beginning of the line as A and the ending ( including 1 cm more) as C and mark B as only 8 cm excluding the 1 cm . Find the middle of A and C draw a line in the middle then take ur compass and take the size of half the line and draw a semi circle then keep ur compass on point B and draw an arch comming towards the line . U will understand the rest looking at the picture .
